Letters in Sequence

Collaboration between Michael Garland and Alizeh Aziz

Letters in Sequence

Some words die in muddy surrender
Ink won’t take in cloudy drink
Some thoughts are said with random thunders
Some strangeness revealed upon the brink
Let shine words with the greatest of care
Emotions in motion run everywhere
Let shine words in the very best meaning
My promise to you is to not be deceiving

What are words?
Letters few,
But carries forth the emotions,
Betwixt me and you,
Whatever be the thunder,
That envelopes these letters,
These would still remain,
Feelings, artistically scattered,
No promises are needed,
But just the truth,
That would define the indefinable
....

Knock Knock

Knock Knock

Mirror shows me twisted lies
Who I am deep in my mind
So little shown so much inside
Parts of me I can’t abide

Steam the mirror before it’s clear.
I still look good …don’t I dear?
Sudden gasp look in my eyes,
I spy the look of another’s guise,

Angry wanting, secret, closed
Trying hard to stay composed
I am a rogue with gentle blues
Sweet as pie with attitude

Fall down from the bitter tree
Castigate the man in me
Wake upon the tiled floor
Don’t worry guys been here before

Dark Thoughts

Dark Thoughts

Show me some color  I see only gray
Living deep in between is really nowhere to stay
Naively seeing life through a poets colored glasses
I think I will close them now and hide from the masses
Goodnight sweet dreamer
I’ve nothing more to dream
I don’t want to see
I don’t want to feel
I don’t want to play
I don’t want to want anymore
Victim of romantic notions
Flailing about in a fool’s stormy ocean
I’ve been in love with love but no more I think
I’ll think no more I think, that is what I think

In Between

In Between
We will see the sky painted in oceans blue
Because in between there is only me and you
We will breathe deeply and not be repelled
At the elusive line between heaven and hell
Sometimes I hide in shadows and I sing alone
Feral and hungry I growl and I moan
I imagine you singing, our voices meld
My beast then slumbers once more repelled
Awaken human let my guitar sing
Of gentler climes and lovely things
Can’t see in the dark or stare at the sun
We meet in the twilight like mustangs we run
Bite the fruit of Eden lick the juice on my chin
Goodbye regrets we’ve bought our sin.
Cast off the past, play our favorite tune
Secret dancers under light of the moon

Familiar Hello’s

Familiar Hello’s

You called my soul
You!!
Yes!
 I see you
Long lost dream
Comfort my present as thou hast caressed my past?
In slumbers gentle past thou hast been home perpetual
Mine own lover’s grail and I drink thee deeply
Beloved thou art truly mine in myriad knowing of what was and what is.
Why else would your words caress like a thousand fireflies
Revealing you to me once again
Leaving me shaking and breathless
You’ve revealed love’s gossamer thread
Binding the millennial resonance of you and I
The song of We
For I have slept this sleep with thee in a thousand forms
I have dreamt this dream of beloved and the eyes that lead to you
I see you
The eyes
The hint of greater beauty
The familiar beckoning
The tender reconciliation
My one heart
My sweet repose of love

C Me C U

C Me C U

I see shadows dance within your eyes
Whispered outrage for parts that have died
Diminished to control by little minds
Let me cradle the woman\child inside
My poor broken one
Look to me

See the better man before you
Stronger arms with untapped devotion
I have the kiss to waken sweeter emotion
Give me a smile if you’ve taken a notion
My beautiful woman
Look to me

I hear you scream without a sound
Yet still your light warmly surrounds
I never knew; how could I know?
What’s shining inside you could nourish my soul
A man that was broken suddenly whole
My soft and lovely one
Look to me

We have loved and lost in mist of time
I’m with you now and yes! it feels right
I won’t regress, while your is heart mine
Point the compass to true loves light
My sweetest love
Look to me

Form with me a sweeter dance
Forget cold hearts and empty hands
I will write my love upon your body
Poet and Poetess feeling so naughty
My shining one
Look to me
Then look again

Ivory Tower

Ivory Tower

Upon the cliff top Rapunzel she perched
Renting her gown in the final purge
I spied her intent calling “ fight the urge”
Rapunzel’s despaired “ I haven’t the nerve”
Reprieve I would take
Would my true love allayed
The one who’s forsaken has kept me waylaid
Cast in an ivory tower is no life you know
Her jailor muted to only worship below
Blinded by progressions haste
Words of poison and rape
Why does he deceive and bereave
I’ve no more horizon
no more to achieve
I’ve rented my tresses for the final ropes weave
Once to often my hearts been deceived
Hence craft of my own making I have achieved
Aiding the soliquial curtains taking
A parachute to oblivion from a life of senseless hating
Rapunzel don’t go for I am he
I am the one who would marry thee
I’ve been waylaid and shorn and  shown great refuse
I tarried the night away with the devils own muse
I’ve acted the rogue in rebellious deluge
I see now my fortune is cast with thee
Rapunzal don’t go have discourse with me
one moment in time to look in my eyes
Yes you could jump or you could be mine
Rapunzel Rapunzel let me change your mind
